Extreme Networks A4H124-24TX High Availability design ensures reliable network operation with 24-port stackable L2/L3 edge switches
The Extreme Networks A4 is a highly reliable fast Ethernet edge switch that delivers scalable line-speed performance to support the bandwidth-intensive and latency-sensitive requirements of today’s demanding applications. A4 also provides multi-layer packet classification and priority queuing for differentiated services. In addition to the 17.6 Gbps switch capacity, the A4 offers up to 48 10/100 Ethernet ports as well as four Gigabit Ethernet uplink ports. Leveraging the A4’s stacking capabilities, up to eight A4s can be interconnected in a single stack to create a virtual switch that provides 140.8 Gbps of capacity and up to 384 10/100 Ethernet ports as well as 16 Gigabit Ethernet uplink ports.

Now you have extreme network policies and basic routing
PoE supports a variety of network devices
Protect your investment with a lifetime warranty
140.8 Gbps capacity and 104.8 Mpps
The A4 packs enterprise-class functionality into a 10/100 stackable switch to ensure seamless connectivity and application performance. The A4 supports 16,000 MAC addresses, making it a great choice for large and medium-sized enterprises that need to support thousands of endpoints. Powerful Quality of service (QoS) features support integrated multimedia networks, including voice over IP (VoIP) and IP video, as well as all types of data-intensive applications. Combined with its non-blocking L2 switching architecture, A4’s intelligent queuing mechanism ensures priority access to network resources for mission-critical applications.
The A4 includes a 24-port model with a very quiet design that operates without a fan in a typical office environment, making it ideal for classrooms and meeting rooms.
The highly scalable architecture and lifetime warranty ensure that the A4 network investment will maintain a secure, feature-rich and cost-effective network for a long time to come.
Reliability and availability
The A4 design incorporates redundancy and fail-safe mechanisms, as well as automatic fail-over and recovery capabilities to provide a reliable network. The integrated power supply is the main power supply for the A4, and full power redundancy is provided by an optional external power supply. In addition to the standard version of A4, there is also an IEEE 802.3af Power over Ethernet version that supports network devices that require an external power source, such as wireless access points, VoIP phones, and network cameras. Virtual switches can be created by interconnecting up to eight A4S in a single stack, which can be managed by a single IP address with redundant management connections. The A4’s closed-loop stacking feature utilizes bidirectional switch interconnects to maintain connectivity within virtual switches regardless of any physical switch level failures. Up to eight Ethernet ports can be grouped together to create a multi-link aggregation group (LAG). A4 can support multiple lags distributed across multiple A4s in a stack to prevent switch-level failures from interrupting data communication.
